Woeful Manchester United and Arsenal Knocked out of Carabao Cup

Newcastle piled the pressure on a troubled Erik ten Hag with a stunning 3-0 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Goals from Miguel Almiron, Lewis Hall and Joe Willock sank the Red Devils to send the Magpies through to the Quarter finals of the Carabao cup.

At the London Stadium, West Ham sank Arsenal 3-1 to end the Gunners Carabao cup hopes with goals from Mohammed Kudus, Jared Bowen and a Ben White own goal.

Martin Odegaard scored the Gunners’ consolation goal in stoppage time as West Ham progressed to the next round at the expense of their former Captain Declan Rice.

In other fixtures, Liverpool progressed at the expense of Bournemouth courtesy of goals from Cody Gakpo and Darwin Nunez with Bournemouth’s Justin Kluivert scoring the Cherries’ only goal.

Troubled Chelsea cruised to the Quarter finals with a reassuring performance against Championship side Blackburn Rovers with goals from Benoit Badiashile and Raheem Sterling.

Chelsea will now take on Newcastle united as Liverpool take on West Ham.

Other Carabao cup quarter final fixtures will see Everton take on Fulham as championship side Middlesbrough battle it out with League One side Port Vale.
